Sworn to the Queen is one of the few fantasy titles on Candy Shorts, a court story where the forbidden element is not family but the law of the castle.

Sworn to the Queen: the case in brief

Anyone who touches the queen will be executed. So when the young queen, 22, assigns the humblest guard in her service to her bedchamber door every night, the post is a death sentence waiting to happen.

She knows it, and she keeps daring him. The series is a game of nerve between power and risk.

Part 1, no sign-up: the appointment

The first part, open to all, shows his surprising appointment; part 2 needs the free account.

Locked, parts 3–5: nights on guard

Three locked parts at 12 tokens follow the nights at her door.
